THE DAYS when the people of Adiembra in the Assin South district of the Central region were compelled to use the Assin Foso Hospital facility is now a thing of the past.
This follows the commissioning of a GH¢700million modern clinic constructed by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Prof. Dominic Fobih.
The clinic is the seventh constructed under Prof. Fobih since he was elected MP for the area about 12 years ago.
Commissioning the facility, he noted that people in the area voted for him due to the confidence they had in him, hence the need for him to undertake more developmental projects.
The MP added there was the need for him to leave behind a good legacy so the constituents will not regret voting for him when he is no more and always remember him for his good works.
Prof Fobih stressed the need for residents to properly maintain the facility to enable more people benefit from it.
The MP who was the former Minister for Education under the Kufuor administration advised the staff to be disciplined in the discharge of their duties to enable patients feel free to access health care at the place.
He appealed to people in the area to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections to help him accomplish his aim of uplifting the image of Assin.
Assin South District Director of the Ghana Health Service, Kofi Mends Quaning thanked the MP for constructing clinics which will help lessen the burden on Foso St Francis Hospital.
He assured staff of his commitment to work hard to save more lives and raise the image of the medical profession.
Chairman for the ceremony, Nana Owusu called on government to construct senior high schools in the area due to the increasing population there.
