The?parliamentary candidate (MP) of the National?Democratic Congress?for the newly???created Juabeng Constituency in Ashanti madam Vida Addai,?has made her?strongest??pledge to ensure the attainment of quality education for children in the constituency.
She believed that??as??education is the fulcrum around which??national accelerated development revolved, it was significant??for all major stakeholders in the sector to make meaningful contributions??both in materials??and cash to support the efforts of the government??to achieve??the desired quality education for Ghanaian children.
?My?avow commitment has remained how???quality education should be attained in this constituency???to breed the caliber of youth with self confidence who, when given the mandate to lead the country, would not be found wanting.?I am doing the little that I can to complement what the Municipal Assembly has been doing, we??need??giant and pragmatic??efforts to provide quality type of education for our children here,? she stressed.
Madam Addai whose hardworking spirit has earned her the accolade????Yaa Asantewaa???made these known in an interview with this reporter after she presented??a brand new??printer and scanner?to the Juaben Senoir High School (JUASS) at the school?s 40th?anniversary .
She?also??donated??a computer and its accessories???Rev. Isaac Osie??Boadi , the headmaster of the school for his personal use.
Already, the Aspiring Member of Parliament had presented 20 computer and their accessories to the municipal directorate of the Ghana Education Service for distribution to some selected schools in the area.
Mr. Addai was convinced that?with the modern trend of Information?Communication Technology?being touted?as the force to propel?the?desired development, it was?important to keep Ghanaian children line with ICT?dynamism.
?With??the acceptance of ICT??as the modern ways of achieving???the expected growth, we need to invest in this area hugely??to offer our children opportunity??to??acquire knowledge and skills in??it so that they can equally??be part of the competing??global job??market,? she??noted.
The parliamentary candidate???disclosed???that she?has?put in place a measure?build??a complex??ICT??centre at Juaben to serve a research centre for students??and other persons who want??to develop their knowledge in ICT.
Madam Addai???who was elected to contest for the then?Ejisu?-Juabeng Constituency??had switched??to Juabeng??Constituency after the constituency was split??into??two, Ejisu and Juaben??constituencies recently.
She was hopeful that????she has what??it takes to win the Juabeng seat for the governing??party , NDC
?I am now with my own people???who have reposed absolute confidence in me, they know my truck records and I am sure??they would not let me and my??party???down because they??really needed me??to spur??on??the developmental agenda for the constituency,? she??said.
She believed the NDC would come??out victorious in the December polls which is less than two months??away .
According to her, President John Mahama??has just plagiarized the humility attitude of the late President Atta Mills which has??put??him at a pole position to win the??elections??as??compared to??the flag bearers of other political parties who would be contesting with him.
?President Mahama?s charismatic attributes such as his humility, the manner he speaks to people irrespective of their political??leanings or age and the way he communicates about national policies, pointed to the fact??he is the best person whose hands the governance of the country??for the next four years should be entrusted to,? she said.
