Arerebo Salaco Yerinmene Peter’s Jr. (Salaco Jr)a UK based Nigerian Student and young youth advocate condemn former minister of defence, Gen. T.Y Danzuma statement for calling on the arrest of Ex- Niger Delta warlords that accept or welcome the Late President Umaru Musa yara’Adua amnesty package.
According to him the Ex- Niger Delta freedom fighters accept or welcome the late president amnesty package because they are peace loving people, they acted or took arm against Nigeria government just because the Niger Deltans, the Ijaw precisely are deprive in their right and not recognize as a citizens in the country.
As a Niger delta young youth advocate I condemn and call on Gen. T.Y Danzuma to render an apology to the ex- Niger Delta Freedom fighters. It is unfortunate and frustrating that a well respected citizen like Dazuma will make such comment on media that will cause another controversy in the country
Gen. T.Y Danzuma should stop any initiative or comment that will result in alternating the Niger Deltan peace loving people and the country as large.
Dazuma is an elder statesman in the country as a former minister of defense, so I expect Gen. Danzuma to sound like an elderly statesman in the country by addressing or make peace between two controversial parties in the country .
Dazuma should commend the Niger Delta freedom fighters for accepting the peace package of the former president of Nigeria and for protecting his major source of income in the country, “The oil well”.
Let me ask Gen. T.Y Danzuma have you ever respond or declared or call for the arrest of General Buhari when he made a controversial statement in 2011 that he will make President Jonathan Government ungovernable or call for the arrest of the Boko Haram insurgents that is threatening the Nigeria government and also planing to unleash attacks in the Niger Delta?.
The born to rule, tribalistic and selfless leaders in the northern part of Nigeria should never think that the Niger Delta peace loving people will fold their arms when they are displaying, trying to claim that they own the country intoto, or they are the god father in the country. It is of great paramount importance that a father should legally protect his child, that is to say it is legal for Niger Deltans to protect their son, president GoodLuck Ebele Jonathan in the forthcoming general election.
Gen. Danzuma call to arrest the Niger delta ex- agitators shows that he is tribalistic.
Am using this medium to call on the leaders and those who call themselves elder statesmen in Nigeria to assume their moral responsibility and stop making controversial issues that will lead to political or tribal crisis in the country. They should always bear in mind that the young people are always watching their steps and ready to copy their good leadership step to ensure freedom, unity and democracy in the country Yerinmene said.
