The All Progressive Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for 2015 in Borno North Senatorial District, Hon. Abubakar Shaib Kyari has donated relief materials to the Internally Displaced Person’s (IDPs) taking refuge at various camps in Maiduguri following activities of BOKO haram insurgents.
wpid-APC79.jpgIt will be recalled that more than 90% Communities in the Borno North Senatorial District have been sacked by the boko Haram terrorists including Nganzai, Abadam, Malam Fatori, Guzamala, Marte, Monguno, Baga, Kukawa and Mobbar council areas of the state.
Kyari said the gesture is to complement the efforts of the state and local governments particularly Governor Kashim Shettima in catering for the well-being of the IDPs and make them feel at home over the calamities that befell them in their communities.
Hon. Babagana Mustapha Galangi, Secretary Northern Borno APC Consultative Forum and campaign coordinator of Abubakar Kyari who accompanied the Senatorial Candidate to the camps, told the IDPs to take what happened to them as an act of God, and that if given the mandate, Hon. Abubakar Kyari will properly represent the people of the constituency to ensure that they did not only go back to their communities, but rebuild all their destroyed houses and places of worship.
Mustapha Galangi had while sympathising with the victims of the boko haram insurgency urged the IDPs to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) which according to him, is the only gateway to allow them perform their civic duties by electing Hon. Kyari to be their senator in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
He pointed out that Hon. Kyari who was one time member- elect for House of Representatives under the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) in 1998 and also represented his constituency at the national assembly on the platform of the defunct All Peoples Party (APP) between 1999 -2003 had impacted positively on the lives of his people, through youth and women empowerment, poverty alleviation and provision of social amenities such as portable drinking water, electrification of rural communities and road construction among others.
Mustapha Galangi therefore assured the IDPs and the people of Borno North that Hon. Kyari is the only candidate that will take them to their promised land, and urged them to come out enmasse and vote for APC during the general elections in the state.
Among the items donated to the IDPs include; 100 bags of rice, assorted cartons of spaghetti, detergents, soaps, maggi, 30 gallons of vegetable oil and cash donations.
