Ghana international winger Andre Ayew returned from suspension to play for Olympique Marseille but he could not help them avoid defeat at Nantes on Friday.
The 25-year-old Ghana deputy captain reclaimed his starting berth and lasted the entire duration at the Stade de la Beaujoire ? Louis Fonteneau as the Olympians slipped to their third straight defeat.
Marseille were unable to recover from a super strike by Togolese international striker Serge Gakp? as they title ambition appear to vanish into the smoke.
Andre missed Marseille?s last league game at Bordeaux after picking a red-card during the loss against Paris Saint-Germain.
