“As part of the fight against terrorism, a detachment of People’s National Army in Bouira (120 km southeast of Algiers) eliminated on Tuesday a terrorist during an ongoing operation in the area,” it said.
A quantity of arms were found, including a RPK machine gun and 110 bullets.
A day earlier, the army troops deployed in the southernmost locality of Bordj Badji Mokhtar discovered a bunker containing weapons of different types at the border with Mali, it added.
Two Kalashnikov machine guns, one PKT machine gun, six RPG rockets, 69 grenades, a large quantity of ammunition of different calibers and explosives were seized in the operation.
