Al Qaeda has clamed responsibility for a recent explosion in Yemen.
Members of this terrorist organization said that this was revenge for a military operation carried out against Al Qaeda in the Yemeni province of Abyan.
The explosion, set off by a suicide terrorist, took place in Yemen’s capital Sana during a rehearsal for a military parade, devoted to the 22nd anniversary of Yemen’s unification. At least 96 servicemen were killed and about 300 were injured. Many of the injured servicemen are now in a life-threatening condition.
The terrorist mixed in with the servicemen and blew himself up when the country’s Defense Minister Mohammad Nasser Ali was entering the square. However, the minister himself was not killed or injured.
