THE MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for Agona East, John Agyabeng has disclosed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has wasted three trillion old cedis within three years of assuming political power.
Instead of using the nation’s resources to embark on developmental projects, the NDC has rather squandered the money, he said.
Mr. Agyabeng made these remarks recently when he commissioned a vocational training center for the people of Agona Nsaba.
He noted that the NDC’s tenure is characterized by intimidation and illegal arrests of innocent people to shut them up, adding that Ghana will come out of slavery within eight months when Nana Akufo-Addo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate is voted president in this year’s general elections.
He further charged the NDC to stop lying and implement policies that will help relieve the masses of their suffering.
Touching on the vocational center, the MP disclosed that 96 people have been selected from various communities within the constituency to be trained as dressmakers and hairdressers.
He indicated that so far about 30 sewing machines and four hair dryers have been acquired to commence the training program.
He explained that the center aims at helping youth in the area acquire vocational training skills in order to reduce unemployment rates.
The Queen mother of Agona Nsaba, Nana Nkansah Edum who chaired the event advised beneficiaries to respect their trainers and carry out their duties diligently.
She also advised the beneficiaries to avoid negative tendencies that could jeopardize their future in order to become useful citizens.
