
Mr Samuel Oppong, Agona West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has expressed satisfaction about the on-going limited voter registration exercise in the Municipality.
According to MCE, the exercise had been incident-free and commended the EC, political party agents, registration officers and other supporting staff at the various Centres.
The MCE said these when he and Mr Charles Obeng-Inkoom, Agona West MP and some officials visited registration centres at Agona Swedru.
At Agona Swedru Farmers Council Center, Mr James A. Odoom, Registration Officer, told the MCE and his entourage that as at 1500 hours on Tuesday only six people had registered.
Mr Dennis Kwesi Abeka Badzie, Registration Officer at Swedru Town Hall said as at 1528 hours 16 people had registered.
At Agona Swedru Dwenho, Ms Faustina Owusu Ansah, Registration Officer told the team that 180 people had registered so far.
Centers visited included Swedru Presbyterian JHS, Swedru Methodist JHS, Roman Catholic JHS, Pentecost Church, Swedru Wawase, Agona Nyakrom Cocoa Shed, Lower Bobikuma Methodist Primary/JHS and Kukurantumi JHS.
Mr Oppong said the Municipality had been calm since the exercise began 10 days ago with no reports of minor registration.
