The Odeon cinema in Greenwich became the centre of attention last Friday when the cast and crew of British love story ‘Afua’s Diary walked the red carpet answering questions from journalists and posing for the assembled photographrs.

The movie, which stars British supermodel Cleopatra Wood and Ghana’s own KSM, has received such interest from the British press describing it as the movie that will bring African cinema to the mainstream.

Asked why she decided to star in an frican themed film, Cleopatra Wood said, ‘It’s It’s rare to find a mainstream film with a Ghanaian girl as the heroine so it was a breath fresh air when I read the story. I saw it as an opportunity to learn more abut my Ghanaian heritage.

The film has received great response from the audience and is scheduled to screen across the UK before heading to Afirica in the new year.

Afua’s Diary is written and produced by Bibi Shadbolt and directed by Ben Owusu.
