African countries sought to develop the necessary capacity for the process of transformation of the continent as mainland economic and financial experts to meet in Addis Ababa.
Addressing the opening of the fifth annual meeting of experts ahead of meetings of the Conference of Ministers of economy, shared and ECA and AU Conference of African Ministers of finance, planning, economic development and finance, 22 April, Mr. Abdulie Janneh, 2012 United Nations Secretary General, Under-Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) reminded the experts that Africa and its development and global development 5.7.08 10, “it should go up to meet the unique challenges that faceRegional and world scene, carefully calibrated policy responses and actions “.
The Conference is under the theme, “the potential Unleashing Africa as global growth 5.7.08.”
According to a review of the terms “Janneh economic and social growth” with the Mainland was 2.7% in 2011, down from 3.1% in 2010.
However, he explained that with the political changes in North Africa and on the associated challenges, the rest of the continent and the growth of logging almost the same level as the previous year.
This, he said, can be attributed to increasing demand, good economic management, in addition to the high prices of goods but warned that the region must vaola improve its governance structures.
“The experience of North Africa going to show that these factors are not sufficient and the Government central to the social and economic situation remained improved,” he said.
Mr. Janneh also noted that the eurozone crisis may have some effects on the continent. “African countries very close to trade, financial assistance, investment ties with Europe, and certainly will be affected adversely by such additional terms in the eurozone,” but claimed Africa provides an opportunity for global development.
“In spite of these facts are known, his chances better proof that given and the amount of potential, Africa provides an opportunity and then untapped world place where investments can be made to increase the demand and help reduce the global imbalance,” he said.
