By-election in Afigya Kwabre Constituency will be held on August 14 in accordance with Article 112 (5) of the Constitution as amended by section 3 of Act 527.
The by-election follows the passing away of the MP for the constituency, Honourable Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah.
In a statement signed by Electoral Commission Deputy Chairman in charge of operations, Sarfo Kantanka, the Commission indicates that it will take nominations for the by-election on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th July, 2012.
According to the statement, candidates for the election, shall provide two recent photographs with red background on the submission of their nomination forms.
Nomination forms may be obtained from the district office of the Commission at Kodie or at the Regional Office of the Commission in Kumasi.
The MP died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital a fortnight ago. Another by-election will be held on the 31st of July after Member of Parliament, for Wulensi, Alhaji Saani lost his life in similar circumstance.
