Aduana Stars

THE PLAYING body of Aduana Stars missed out on taking home some mouthwatering cash rewards last Wednesday from management after failing woefully to beat Kotoko at home.

The spiritual leader of the former league winners, Osaagyeguo Oseadeyo Agyeman Badu II promised the team a lip smacking winning bonus should they pip visiting Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

A source that disclosed the news to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS said the players and technical bench were given the promise by the Dormaahene days before the titanic encounter.

Though he could not state the exact amount that each player was promised by the paramount chief, he said, the monies the team would have taken home would have been their highest for the season.

The titanic mid-week encounter ended barren after both sides failed to utilize the numerous chances that came their way in a game which was full of tension and controversy.

The source noted that the Aduana team was looking dejected and disappointed when the match officials brought proceedings to a close not just because they failed to get the three points but also because they missed the big cash.

Aduana Stars made history by winning the league title two seasons ago, but they are now finding it extremely difficult to win the league diadem once again after being dethroned by Berekum Chelsea last season.

There has always been tension whenever Aduana Stars play Kumasi Asante Kotoko with both teams trying as much as possible to run away with the important victory.
