According to the Group, the school?s plant did not provide power to its hostels and that created challenges for students when lights were out.

The Rector said it would help student?s academic work and hoped that both parties would get fruitful results from the facility.
Presenting the plant, Mr Sualihu Mohammed Hardi, Accra Poly SRC President, said the Council had a responsibility of contributing towards the development of the institution and Ghana as a whole, and as such; there was a need to contribute in solving the energy crises.
Mr Hardi therefore commended the management of the school for supporting the activities of the students? body, and hoped that the collaboration would continue in the maintenance and running of the facility.
He said the donation was as a result of concerns raised by students at the hostel; who were badly affected by the ongoing load shedding exercise that has saddled the nation.
In another development, the Polytechnic Management officially opened a two-day orientation programme in Accra for the newly elected SRC executives for the 2015/2016 academic.
The annual training programme aims at equipping the new executives with the skills needed to effectively manage the day to day affairs of students in the Polytechnic.
