Accra Gets Diabetes Support Centres

wpid-Diabetes-Support-Centres.jpgIn fulfillment of its manifesto promise to provide good, efficient, affordable and reliable healthcare system for all citizens, the Government has inaugurated two diabetes support centres in Accra to give diabetics access to health care and insulin.

Located at the Ga South Municipal Hospital and the Maamobi General Hospital, the centres have education and counseling rooms, a pharmacy, a laboratory and a consulting room.

They will also screen people for diabetes, train healthcare professionals and create accessibility to quality insulin and diagnostic equipment at affordable prices for residents in the metropolis.

The centre was established through a public-private partnership between Novo Nordisk, the world?s leading Diabetes Company in Denmark, the National Diabetes Association of Ghana and the government of Ghana.
