A makeshift residential area popularly known as Abuja located around the Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB) in Accra, has been gutted by fire.
The fire is reported to have started around 8pm, Tuesday.
The area apart from being a makeshift residential area for some traders and porters, is also a location for commercial activities.
The area houses a market and a lorry station, citifmonline.com is informed.
Citifmonline.com?s Philip Kofi Ashon, who was at the scene reported that over four fire tenders were at the scene of the incident attempting to control the blaze.
Some of the residents and traders who spoke to citifmonline.com said although the fire service personnel were contacted, they delayed in responding to their call.
Traders who were in the area could be seen frantically trying to save their wares from being destroyed.
