Thursday June 5, 2014 is in the history books of some as the day of the Biblical Noah. This is so because the about nine hour moderate rain in the country has rendered them homeless.
The Nsakina river in the Ga Central District of the Ablekuma district overflown its boundaries, cutting commuters off from Accra Central city and the rest of the country.
Saloon cars could not cross the flooded water. Motorcycles could not stand it except heavy duty cars and long buses.
The water over the bridge went about four feet high causing even Benz buses to stuck.
While at it some folks in the area were also busily cashing in on it by carrying commuters at their back at a reasonable fee of GHc 2.00 per person.

The problem, according to some residents of the area is mainly caused by housing developers who are building right on water ways. This they say have been reported to the officials of the Ga Municipal Assembly ?but all they do is to come and write STOP WORK on the buildings and collect money from the developers and leave,? some residents of the area alleged.
The floods damaged buildings and kiosks as well as electrical connections of people as electric poles fell on houses due to erosion.
