Partick Thistle captain Abdul Osman

Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Osman has urged his Partick Thistle team-mates to push further to lift the club to a safe and comfortable place in the Scottish Premiership.

Thistle have emerged from the cold in the early parts of the season to climb out of the relegation zone to a comforting mid-table spot.

But captain Osman is in no-stop mood for pushing the Jags further up the table.

“We need to maintain our intensity. This is when we need to kick on the most, because when you’re losing it can be hard to see where the next win is coming from,” he said.

“When you’re winning you’ve got to keep up the performance levels and make sure that you don’t relax on it and take it for granted,” he added.

The 28-year-old was appointed captain of Thistle before the start of the 2015/16 season and he has successfully led the club to an historic revival.
