As part of the government?s promise to implement the phase 3 of the Rural Enterprises Programme (REP) which is projected to create sustainable jobs in the micro, small and medium scale enterprises sector, the ministry of Trade and Industry has secured an amount of $76 million to support the programme.
Minister of Trade and Industry Hon. Haruna Iddrisu announced this at a workshop on the REP?s framework in Kumasi.
Hon. Iddrisu said the way had been cleared for the commencement of effective and sustainable work towards improving rural livelihoods and rural income without any hindrance.
He urged the youth to start their own businesses with such funding, instead of seeking for non-existing employment avenues in the public sector.
The $ 76 million was secured from the African Development Bank (AFDB).
