
More than 600 runners took part in a vertical marathon up the tallest building in Beijing, China.
The competitors were tasked with racing up 2,041 steps in the China World Trade Centre Tower 3, the tallest building in Beijing, and several professional athletes also took on the challenge.
A female Australian won the women’s section of the marathon after completing the gruelling race in 11 minutes and 46 seconds.
To make the race more practical, all of the runners were split up into groups depending on their ability.
