The Third Ghana e-Commerce Expo has been launched in Accra under the theme: “Transforming Ghana's Online Businesses through Technology, Innovation and Opportunity”.

In an Interview with NewsGhana.com.gh, the Event Director Mr Paul Asinor, OML Africa, he disclosed that, over the two day period, the third Ghana e- Commerce exhibition will provide platform for exhibitors to Sign on new businesses or Clients. Adding that, the event will shape the way modern business is conducted.
This he said companies will also gain market exposure by showcasing their e -Commerce product and Services.

According to him, there will be a discussion on Mobile Banking Strategic approach to consumer money management through Smartphone, tablets and other potable device.
“The main objective of the Ghana e-Commerce conference include: sharing of essential skills and insights that leading organizations are using to effectively exploit the internet, social media, mobile marketing in order to attract new customers , as well as tackling cyber threats facing online transactions especially with emerging electronic payment platforms and cards” , he explained.

The global growth rate of e-Commerce is 16.8% ; Africa’s e-commerce space is growing at a rate of 25.8% . For instance ,e- commerce is yet another opportunity we should grab with both hands.With deepening internet penetration , some of this spending is happening online.

Meanwhile, Africa’s middle class is rising and they have money to spend . About a third of the continent spends between $20 day – a group that is expected to grow 42% by 2060 according to data from the Africa Development Bank.

Consumption on the continent rose to more than $ 1 trillion in 2012, from $364 million in 2000, an annual rate of growth of 10.7%.

According to the Event Director, expert speakers and leading practitioners will share with delegates what has worked , what is not working , the tools , skills and strategic insights needed for their organizations.

Adding that , the Ghana e-Commerce Expo has experienced remarkable attendee growth over the past two years with conference delegates, exhibitors and exhibition visitors numbers growing by 44% , 90.9% and 115% respectively.

Over 4000 visitors, 100 conferences delegates and 50 exhibitors are expected to attend this year event.According to him, there will be a discussion on Mobile Banking Strategic approach to consumer money management through Smartphone, tablets and other potable device.

More so ,with 50% of the continent expected to have access to the internet by 2025, online shopping could account for 10% of retail sales or $ 75 billion , according to a McKinsey report.
