More than 3,000 graduates sat for Saturday’s 2012 Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Commission Course 21 Examination which took place at the Navy Secondary School, Ojo, Lagos.
The candidates, who outnumbered the 2011 batch, were separated in classrooms according to their states of origin, except for those whose names were not on the list.
Some of the candidates who refused to be identified said they wanted to join the military because of job security.
“It is only in the military that one can be sure of job security,” one of them said.
The officials on duty declined comments, saying they were not authorised to speak.
The examination, which was orderly and organised, commenced behind schedule.
The highest number of candidates came from Lagos State, while the least was from Taraba.
