The event will be held at the Alisa Hotel on February 18, 2016.
The NET Lecture Series is a platform through which YPEN create economic dialogue on issues affecting the global economy and to be a thought provoking series of lectures that would set the agenda for global economics debate.
Similar lecture was held in January 2015 on the topic ‘New Economic Thinking for bridging the rising income inequality gap in an ascending Africa’, with over 280 people attending.
According to YPEN, the second edition of the NET Lecture will be held on the topic “Post-2015 Development Agenda: financing Africa’s development”.
It said, “the 21st Century marked the beginning of intensity and focus of the global community towards poverty eradication, and socioeconomic development in a concerted effort than could have ever occurred in our immediate history; with the outdooring and implementation of strategies under the Millennium Development Goals.
The 2016 lecture series aims to assemble thought leaders in the area of development policy with a specific focus on African development, to critically analyze, engage, discuss and examine the Post-2015 Development Agenda of the continent.
Dr. Nii Moi-Thompson, who will be speaking at the lecture is the Director General of the National Development Planning Commission.
The Young Professional Economists Network (YPEN) is a non-profit and an independent organization established to coordinate and train young professional economists across the world while helping them to build a new economic paradigm which is relevant to the 21st century and beyond.
