Prince Owusu’s appointment has been heavily criticized
Hearts physical trainer WO Tandoh has criticized the appointment of Prince Owusu as the assistant coach of the country?s Under-20 side.
The Tema Youth trainer has been confirmed as Maxwell Konadu?s assistant ahead of the African Youth qualifier against Uganda following the resignation of CK Akunnor.
The appointment of the former Prampram Royals tactician has been met with wild criticism after it emerged he lacks the requisite qualifaction to be handed the job.
He does not even boast of a CAF intermediate coaching certificate ? the minimum requirement needed to qualify for a coaching badge to the management of a lower division side but brags of a rich CV as a youth developer.
But WO Tandoh believes his appointment is in bad taste and smack of bad precedents.
?Nobody has anything against our friend but I believe that we must do the right thing. On what basis was he appointed? Tandoh quizzed

?As far as I know and many of our colleagues know, he does not have any of these qualifications and so why should others who are duly qualified be by-passed for the job,?
?I don?t want him to take it personal or for people to view it at a personal thing. I don?t have any basis to hate him for me to make this case but I believe it?s unfarir for people to through the procedure and then they are by-passed for those who are clearly unqualified,?
In the professional game, coaches are expected to acquire at least a Uefa license B or C certificate to qualfiy for coaching stints with any of the junior national teams.
