Isabella Gyau Orhin presenting a dummy cheque to Dr. Baffoe Gyan

IN PURSUANCE of the company’s corporate social responsibility, Zoomlion Ghana Limited has donated GH¢5,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to help cater for patients with heart related problems.

Presenting the cheque on behalf of Zoomlion, Communications Manager, Isabella Gyau Orhin said the donation is largely to demonstrate the fact that Zoomlion is interested in the health needs of all Ghanaians, especially children who are brought to the hospital and need care.

She said apart from keeping communities clean through collection haulage, dumping and treatment of solid waste, the company also has various public education programmes aimed at keeping Ghanaians in general strong and healthy.

On his part, Dr. Baffoe Gyan, a heart surgeon who received the donation on behalf of the centre, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Zoomlion for the support.

He said the donation forms part of the 50 percent discount given to all Ghanaians needing heart related surgeries which the National Health Insurance does not cover.

He urged other institutions to emulate Zoomlion’s example.
