Zimbabwean government on Monday released a list of products that will be subjected to inspection before being allowed into the country.

importsAccording to the list released by the Industry and Commerce Ministry, food, agriculture, clothing and textile are among the list of those products.

The list also includes packing material, electrical and electronic appliances, automotive and transportation, engineering, toys and body care products.

Under the government’s Consignment Based Conformity Assessment programme aimed at reducing hazardous and substandard imported products and improve custom duty collection, a conformity certificate will be issued before the products are shipped to Zimbabwe.
The trial run will run from July 27 to October 31 and full implantation will commence on November 1 this year.
