Geoffrey Mwambs, vice president of the main opposition, United Party for National Development, was arrested for acts likely to cause breach of peace, police said.

Livestock thieves arrested
Zambia Police Spokersperon Charity Munganga-Chanda said his arrest follows his threats on Zambian President Edgar Lungu.

On Wednesday, Mwambs said he will go for the Zambian leader’s throat. The statement prompted Lungu’s supporters to lodge a complaint to the police.

Mwamba was earlier this week arrested on another charge of using his premises to train party youth as militias. Nineteen youth were arrested during a police raid. Enditem
