Zambia’s annual inflation rate rose by 0.5 percentage points in August compared to the previous month, its statistics agency said on Thursday.

Overall year-on-year inflation as measured by the consumer price index (CPI) increased to 9.3 percent in August, up from 8.8 percent in July.

Year-on-year food inflation rose to 10.3 percent in August, up from 9.3 percent of July, according to the CSO. Enditem
