Zambia youth is working on a proposal to set up a China-Zambia sports exchange desk focused on promoting various disciplines among the youth who are the majority population in Zambia, a youth leader from the ruling Patriotic Front party said.
Don Mungulube said establishing a youth desk for an exchange program with the Chinese will benefit a lot of Zambian young people.
“Currently we are working on the youth project aimed at promoting sports discipline for our youths, we have started working on a proposal for China-Zambia sports exchange project,” he said.
Mungulube said Zambian youths were talented and what is required is to promote sports on the international exchange program.
According to Mungulube, who led a team of 30 Zambian youths in China on a business education trip last year said China has all it takes to support and mentor Zambian youths in various disciplines.
Apart from sports, Mungulube said youths can also learn entrepreneurship from their Chinese counterparts.
“A lot of youths in China are managing big enterprises and have employed hundreds of their fellow youths, this is what we want to be as Zambian young people,” he said.
Lindiwe Manda, a Chingola-based youth supports the plan to establish the sports exchange program desk with China.
“Plans are welcome to establish an exchange sports desk with China because a lot of talented youths will benefit from such a project,” he said. Enditem
