Zambian leader to travel to Ethiopia for AU summit

Zambian President Edgar Lungu is scheduled to travel to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia for an African Union summit, the country’s foreign affairs minister said on Thursday.

Joseph Malanji said the Zambian leader was scheduled to arrive in Ethiopia on Saturday, Feb. 9, according to a release.

According to him, the Zambian leader will hold various bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Chairperson of the AU Commission Moussa Faki as well as other African leaders.

The Zambian minister said this year’s summit was extremely important as it was expected to adopt key transformative legal and structural reforms of the AU. Enditem
