The Zambian government on Wednesday assured the African Union (AU) of its commitment to domesticating the Agenda 2063 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Malanji made the assurance of Zambia’s commitment to domesticate the Agenda 2063, Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming the continent into a global powerhouse of the future, when AU Commissioner for Economic Affairs Victor Harrison paid a courtesy call to him.

The government, he said, has already included the Agenda 2063 in its Seventh National Development Plan to ensure easy domestication of some projects.

He said Zambia was fully committed and looking forward to the speedy implementation of the Agenda 2063 as well as other AU programs. such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

On his part, the AU official emphasized the need to have enhanced regional integration to help in the attainment of the Agenda 2063.

He further called for increased domestic resource mobilization and private sector engagement for successful implementation of AU projects. Enditem
