The Zambia-China Culture Year has served as a launchpad for greater future endeavors between China and Zambia, a Zambian writers’ body said on Saturday.

The designation of 2019 as Zambia-China Culture Year has led to improved business ties and better economic outcomes for the two countries, said the Zambia Women Writers’ Association.

“On the educational and technological front, as well as across sectors, exchanges have helped to boost the economies of countries involved and should therefore be encouraged,” the association’s President Agnes Nyendwa told Xinhua in an interview.

“Cultures are too diverse to be grasped in just one year, hence the need for continued efforts in this direction,” said Nyendwa, who is also Zambia National Arts Council Vice Chairperson.

“The world has become a global village and need for greater understanding of other cultures is key to global development,” said Nyendwa. Enditem
