Egypt to face Ghana on October 15

The Egyptian FA have elected Saif Zaher to take charge of the Pharaohs trip to Ghana for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier ? sidelining Hassan Farid who has been leading the team for over a year in the process.

The decision was made at another heated meeting of the association?s board on Friday.

Zaher had a day earlier clashed with Farid over who had the legitimate right to lead the team to Ghana for the October 15 game in Kumasi.

Hassan Farid had argued he was the best candidate to lead the side as he has been doing for the past year and throughout Egypt?s World Cup qualification series.

But Zaher insisted he was the right man to lead the side following his past successes with the national team on crucial travels.

The board eventually came to a decision to hand the leading role to Zaher after another bout of heated exchanges.

The recent board meetings have played its part in dividing the administrative front of the Egyptian FA ahead of the game against the Black Stars on October 15 in Kumasi.

Loyalists to the contesting parties over the leading role to play for the crunch game are peeved depending on where the final decision swung to.

This threatens to undo the immense weeks of administrative preparations by the Egyptians towards the match and could play into Ghana?s favour who have so far enjoyed a much calmer preparation towards the game.
