Yfm Ignites Mensah Sarbah Hall Week

Ghana’s leading youth radio station, YFM, partnered with Mensah Sarbah Hall to reignite its hall week after a multi-year hiatus, dubbing the comeback “Returnova.”

The event series ran from July 15-19, 2025, at the University of Ghana, blending community service, competitions, and cultural festivities.

Activities commenced with a campus-wide clean-up where residents cleared gutters and public spaces, embodying the hall’s commitment to communal responsibility. Competitive spirit followed on Wednesday with an inter-block football tournament featuring an unconventional top prize: a live he-goat. Evening indoor games and DJ sets maintained high energy across the hall.

Thursday featured a Gino-sponsored cooking contest judged by influencer Ama Burland, with teams preparing traditional dishes like jollof rice and banku. The day concluded with an outdoor movie screening. Friday prioritized wellness through free health screenings before transitioning to the signature “Sarbah Rave Night,” where Afrobeats star Camidoh delivered a surprise performance to a packed quadrangle.

The week culminated in a health walk to Aburi on Saturday, featuring group aerobics and music. YFM Programmes Manager Rev. Erskine described the collaboration as “a celebration of youth energy, culture and community spirit,” highlighting the station’s focus on empowering young audiences through experiential partnerships.
