YAKTEST Medical Laboratory and Ultrasound Diagnostic Centre has officially opened its doors in Akyem Nsutam, bringing affordable, high-quality diagnostic healthcare services closer to residents of the Eastern Region and neighboring communities.
The facility is equipped with modern laboratory and imaging technology to support early disease detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment.
The Chief Executive Officer of YAKTEST, Nana Afia Adepa Korangtemaa, Ankobea Hemaa of Akyem Abomosu, explained that the centre was established to make quality diagnostic healthcare both affordable and accessible.
She revealed that her exposure to healthcare systems outside Ghana inspired her to introduce international standards of service delivery while maintaining affordable pricing for local communities.
“As part of our commitment to the community, we will offer free medical laboratory services towards the end of February 2026.
Additionally, patients without transportation can contact the centre, as we have a company vehicle available free of charge to assist with patient movement to and from the facility,” she added.

Haematology: Full Blood Count (FBC), Blood Grouping and Rhesus Factor, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), and Malaria Parasite Tests.
Chemical Pathology: Kidney and liver function tests, fasting and random blood sugar tests, and lipid profile (cholesterol tests).
Microbiology: Urine and stool examinations and cultures, blood culture tests, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) tests, and Widal tests.
Hormonal and Special Tests: Pregnancy tests (hCG), thyroid function tests (T3, T4, TSH), fertility hormone tests, and Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) tests.
