What: World Refugee Day Commemoration

The United Nations General Assembly declared 20 June as the World Refugee Day in 2000. Every year, events are held all over the world to commemorate refugees and celebrate their courage.

Theme: One Family Torn Apart by War it Too Many

We are all different, we are all equal Ubuntu has no borders.

Where: Orlando Communal Hall 129 Adam Street, Orlando East Soweto, Johannesburg

Who: Performances by the Grammy Award Winning Soweto Gospel Choir and refugee cultural groups Remarks by DHA, UNHCR, City of Johannesburg and Ms. Antoinette Sithole, Sister of Hector Pieterson.
