GYANIt was vivid that the Black Stars of Ghana will qualify to the quarter finals of the ongoing 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa at the expense of DR Congo and Niger.

Indeed Asamoah Gyan, Christian Atsu and John Boye goals against Niger last Monday at the Nelson Mandela Sports Stadium in Port Elizabeth in the final group B match did trick for the senior national team to atop the group with seven points.

Although is joy for the football circuits, I think more work need to be done as the team prepares to take on the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in the quarter finals on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth.

During the match against Niger , the team after being in the lead started to cool the game down because the Nigerians were bluntly in effective and lacked quality on their side.

Not only that, the central pair of Boye and Vorsah were totally flat footed on the day and in the context of this i would love to see Jonathan Mensah in our next game against Cape Verde to play the Li-bro role.

If am to give credit, the midfielders on that day were up to task but the strikers lack potency upfront.

Since there is more room for improvement and destiny lying in their own hands, the Black Stars should work hard as they have another hurdle to jump for their chances of winning the crown lies on the match against Cape Verde.
