A leading contender for the Ashanti regional chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako aka ?Wontumi,? has vowed to recapture the Asawase seat, which was won by Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) in the 2012 elections, for the NPP.

?Tell Muntaka that I will snatch his parliamentary seat for the NPP in the 2016 parliamentary elections, which is just around the corner, he stated.

Wontumi disclosed this while addressing hundreds of NPP faithful in Kumasi on Wednesday who took part in the handing over of a three-storey office complex that he rented for 10 years for the NPP.

According to him, Hon. Muntaka and his NDC would be defeated in the 2016 elections.

Wontumi said that he would work diligently to recapture three other seats in the region, Tepa, Drobonso and New Edubiase, saying the NPP would sweep all parliamentary seats in the region in 2016.

He stated that he would rekindle the vibrant spirit of the NPP in the Ashanti region and Ghana at large ?so that political power will be ours in 2016.?

Wontumi said he would partner the NPP MPs in the region and the party?s constituency and polling station executives to launch the grand agenda to unseat the NDC in 2016.

NDC ATROCITIES OVER

He promised to tackle NDC ?machomen? and thugs that would plan to terrorize NPP members in the region during electioneering period.

?No NPP member would be victimized and the party?s faithful would be confident to undertake legitimate work for the NPP.

He urged the NPP delegates to vote massively for him to steer the affairs of the party to capture power in 2016.

The elated NPP supporters, who danced and sang victory songs, hailed Wontumi.
