Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and Senegalese President Macky Sall, has condemned the terrorists attacks in Nigeria in the last few days.

wpid-Recently-elected-Senegal-President-Macky-Sall.jpg“In these painful circumstances, the Chairman presents his heartfelt condolences to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, the government and brotherly people of Nigeria,” the chairman said in a statement released in the Nigerian city of Lagos.

He said the recent attacks had left more than 150 dead and many others injured, appealing for greater international efforts to counter terrorism and violent extremism.

He also called for the expeditious holding of a summit of ECOWAS heads of state and of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), saying these summits are needed to map out a common strategy against terrorism. Enditem
