Ghanaian artist Wavy Denkyi has officially released his new single “Dabɛn?”, now available on all major digital streaming platforms. Listen Here – https://too.fm/wavy-daben

Produced by Ghanaian beatmaker Sectormadeit, “Dabɛn?” is a soul-searching street anthem that captures the frustration, hope, and relentless hustle of life in Accra. The title, which means “when?” in Twi, reflects a question many young people ask themselves as they navigate personal struggles and pursue their purpose.

The single follows Wavy Denkyi’s 2024 mixtape Jumble, which featured records like “Free Smoke” and introduced listeners to his distinctive fusion of AfroTrap, trap, and hip hop, blending Ga and Twi with raw street storytelling. With “Dabɛn?”, the artist dives even deeper, opening up about faith, family pressure, ambition, and survival.

The song begins with the signature Wavefam chant — “Wolɛ Wolɛ Wolɛ / It’s Wavefam!” — before moving into bold and reflective lines such as “Make Nobody Pray For Me, Make You Press Play” and “We No Dey Wait For No Pal, Stack Up My Racks Till It Pile.”

At the emotional center of the track is the powerful hook:

“Lord, I Still Ain’t Found My Rib. Maybe She’s Dead  And My Mama She Look At Me Dead In The Eyes Like Daben?”

Through these lyrics, Wavy Denkyi expresses longing, expectations from home, broken promises, and an honest conversation with God about timing. Lines like “I Leff The Steer For Yesu But Me I Keep Me A Blicky” highlight the tension between faith and survival, while “High With The Fashion, Forget All The Traction I Just Want My Space” reflects the pressure of chasing dreams in a chaotic environment.

Speaking about the record, Wavy Denkyi shares:

“‘Dabɛn?’ is straight talk to God, to my mother, and to myself. After Jumble, this is me being fully transparent about the pain behind the grind. In Accra, we may ask when, but we never stop moving.”

Following the momentum from Jumble and collaborations including work with Medikal, Wavy Denkyi continues to shape his sound while expanding the Wavefam movement globally. “Dabɛn?” is now available on all streaming platforms.
