Water supply in Ghana’s capital and other parts of the country has been hit by effects of ongoing drought in the country, state-run water utility company, Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has told consumers.

In a release late Thursday, the company explained that it has been experiencing some challenges with water supply in Accra and most parts of the country since the beginning of the dry season.

The dry season in Ghana starts from November to the end of April with attendant reduction in volumes of water in water basins, bush fires and lower generation levels of hydro-electric power.

“We are sorry to inform the consuming public that, the situation has led to intermittent water supply in most Cities and Towns in the country,” added the release signed by Stanley Martey, Head of Communications for GWCL. Enditem
