The workers, wearing red bands in a protest against the Administrative Manager, have

accused her of unethical behaviour towards them.

Miss Deborah Sokari has also been accused of abusing workers rights without recourse to

the policies and procedures of the corporation.

At a press conference in Wa on Monday, Mr. Nagumo Thomas More Leenaa, and Mr. Osman

Husseini Sully, Secretary and Member of the VRA Workers Union, said the workers petitioned

to declare Madam Sokari ?persona non grata? in the Wa Office of VRA/NEDCo.

The Union said Miss Sokari had been making secret recording of every proceeding of

meetings held in the office and transmitting them to the Managing Director, which they

explained was a breach of trust and against the rules and regulations of the Corporation.

The Union appealed to the VRA authorities to come to the aid of workers to save the

Organisation.

The workers hinted that they would soon embark on a sit-down strike if nothing was done

urgently on their petition.

The Union said a National Service Personnel who gave birth during her service period, was

ordered to return to work after a week of delivery irrespective of maternity leave form

which was presented for official records.

The workers accused Miss Sokari of refusing to make recommendations for the payment of

casual workers and labourers, just because of her personal interest.

Madam Sokari when contacted to react to the allegations, said she needed time to seek

permission from her superior officers before speaking to the media
