Some delegates voting in the council of state election in the volta region are expressing frustrations over the delay in the start of the exercise due to late arrival of most of the delegates.

The exercise scheduled to begin at 10am at the conference hall of the regional Electoral Commission (EC) is yet to commence, because, majority of the 50 member electoral college are yet to arrive at the venue.

Two of the delegates who are currently at the venue are however alleging their colleagues are being camped at the Volta Regional minister’s residence.

According to them, the Volta Regional Minister-Designate, Dr. Archibald Letsa and regional coordinating director, Alhaji Ibrahim Alhassan are lobbying the delegates to vote for their favourite candidate, Togbe Gbogbolulu V, paramount chief of Vakpo.

Nonetheless, the regional EC director, Selormey Dogbey Adukpo is urging calm as he gave a 30minutes grace period after which proceedings will commence.

A total of 20 persons including 13 traditional rulers and 2 women are vying for the Volta region slot on the council of state.
