The Food Drugs Authority (FDA) has described the recent video clip on process of sausage manufacturing as inaccurate, mischievous and deliberately falsified to misinform Ghanaians.

?The video clip, which is being aired on Net 2 TV and also in circulation on mobile phones courtesy Oheneba Ntim-Barimah, a natural medicine advocate, is inaccurate, deceptive and has been deliberately put together to cause unnecessary fear and panic.?

A press release issued and signed by the Chief Executive of FDA, Mr Hudu Mogtari and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday in Accra stated.

The press release said after a careful watch of the video clip, it realized that Mr Oheneba Ntim-Barimah deliberately put together two different pieces of video clips to present his own concept of sausage manufacture.

It gave the evidence that the first 30 seconds of the video clip was culled from a video clip on how pigs were destroyed in Europe after an outbreak of a disease, and that was to give the impression that in sausage manufacture, dirty, un-slaughtered pigs and animals were crushed with all their bodies, heads, intestines, blood, faeces, fur and feet.

?In the second half of the clip, Oheneba Ntim-Barimah actually culled an advertisement on sausage processing by John Morell to complete his concept of sausage manufacture.

Indeed the full clip in the original John Morell video on sausage which is in the custody of FDA details the use of edible parts of properly slaughtered, non-diseased animals for sausage manufacture,? the statement said.

The press release explained that Mr Oheneba Ntim-Barimah deleted the portion of the John Morell?s video Clip which would have exposed him.

The FDA also described the assertion that a woman had a fibroid as a result of consumption of sausages as fallacy and an unfortunate disingenuous way to promote healthy lifestyle.

The release said none of the six local sausage manufacturing companies registered by the FDA manufactures sausage as described by Mr Oheneba Ntim-Barimah in his video clip.

?The FDA therefore takes a strong exception to the video clip of Oheneba Ntim- Barimah since the video is deliberately put together to undermine our collective effort to develop the sausage industry for national development,? the statement added. GNA
