Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on Wednesday arrived in Kumasi to address the ninth quadrennial delegates congress of the Ghana Trades Union Congress.

The five-day congress from August 11-16 is on the theme ?Organising for Empowerment, Employment Security and Increased Productivity? at the Great Hall of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

A Youth and Women Congress has been scheduled to precede the main congress, the highest decision making body of the GTUC.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur, former Governor of the Bank of Ghana arrived to a hearty welcome by Dr Kweku Agyemang-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, and supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on his maiden visit to the Garden City.
