It may continue to sound doubtful to you that border security officers in the United States of America [U.S.A.] and their counterparts in Canada have been making arrests of persons in possession of child pornographic materials.

arrest

Now, it is a known fact that border security officers of America and Canada have been arresting people with pornographic materials on their electronic devices at various ports of entry either into Canada or America.

Two months ago, the rumour mill had it that a young man who was traveling from New York in America to Toronto-Canada was arrested at Pearson International Airport for having child pornographic material on his cell phone.

The rumor created arguments among members in the Ghanaian community that it was not true. The argument made this reporter to scout for more information to either authenticate the story or dispel it.

Investigations lead this reporter to the website of the Canada Border Services Agency CBSA, where it was reported on January 12, 2015 that officers of the agency arrested four persons suspected of having child pornographic materials in their possession at Lansdowne Port of Entry.

According to the story, ?CBSA officers at Lansdowne [THOUSAND ISLANDS] port of entry seized electronic devices which contained suspected pornography from four travelers during routine secondary inspections in December 2014 and in early January 2015.

It explained that, in three separate incidents that took place on December 6, December 18 and December 29, 2014, officers seized cell phones from three travelers containing videos that depicted child pornography.

It further explained that in all three cases, the individuals were arrested and charged with non-report of imported goods, possession of illegally imported goods and smuggling under customs Act as well as possession of child pornography and importing them under criminal code?.

Most people need to be concerned about what they do on their time in their bedrooms, classrooms and offices especially using their cell phones and cameras on various social media networks.

This is because, in the internet age, where many private activities can become public, that means being careful about what you say or record and post online.

Children are in danger everywhere in the world as a new UNICEF U.K. report has indicated.
According to the report, every five minutes a child dies as a result of violence where vast majority of them are killed outside warzones.

And the physical, sexual and emotional abuses are wide spread with millions of children unsafe in their homes, schools and communities.

The possession of child pornography and its transportation across international boundaries is a very serious crime in North America and other developed countries.

Officers of various security agencies such as the immigration, customs and boarder security continues to identify to arrest and prosecute those who are hurting the most vulnerable segment of our society [children].

With the advent of the internet, the sharing and trading of child pornography now primarily occurs online.

An investigation conducted by this journalist reveals that since Homeland Security Investment [HSI] launched Operation Predator in 2003, it has so far arrested more than 10,000 individuals for crimes against children.
Investigations further revealed that in the 2013 fiscal year alone, more than 2,000 two thousand individuals were arrested by HSI special agents under this initiative.

With the advanced technology in media that allows nearly 30,000 thirty thousand persons to view pornographic sites and in every minute internet users sending 1.7 million pornographic materials one can suspect that this crime is seriously going on in the country, Ghana.

You can not do away with science and technology but if I should advice then I will say, ?be careful because the SHERIFF?S[U.S. Police] and MOUNTIES [Canadian Police] big brothers are watching you and won?t waste time to identify you, arrest you, charge you and the courts imprison you or deport you.
