URA and Maroons will try to buy into this notion with utmost urgency going forward.

Alex Isabirye’s URA will have little time to mull over the gone-wrong weekend adventure on the continent while Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons will have had enough time to nurse an SC Villa-induced injury last Friday.

Ugandan champions and Bell Super League table toppers, URA, were ambushed by Djoliba as the Mali side put behind the army mutiny in their home country to hit the hosts 2-0 at Namboole, leaving them with an uphill task in Bamako in a fortnight.

On their part, Maroons fell into SC Villa’s giant trap at their own home, losing 2-1. But both sides have an immediate chance to bring back an aura of hope when they get to Bell Uganda Cup action today with a quarter-final berth on the cards.

Ssentongo to play
URA face lower tier side Luwero at Kasana with Isabirye expected to make a number of changes from the team that faced Djoliba. “Of course we are still disappointed from Saturday especially that we didn’t convert our chances,” Isabirye told Daily Monitor yesterday.

“Now every match for us is a must win from now. I will rest a number of regular players tomorrow but Ssentongo (Robert) will play as we want him to continue polishing his scoring touch.”

Ssentongo leads the league’s scoring charts with 12 goals but has failed to find the net in all three continental engagements.

Bunnamwaya game off
Maroons will also look to bounce back when they host Big League side Aurum Roses in Luzira Prisons ground. Sula Kato’s buoyant Victors travel to Masaka in the only all – Super League encounter.

Meanwhile Misindye’s game against Bunnamwaya was called off to allow the Big League side rest having played two games over the weekend in Aduku and Lira.
