MAHAMA LED ADMINISTRATION SO FAR SO GOOD―UE/R CADRES

The government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of his Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, and Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur has performed creditably well. This is according to independent critical observation and in-depth analysis by the United Cadres Front (UCF) in Upper East Region.

The Cadres made this known in a press release signed by its Regional Chairman Comrade Alagskomah Asakeya Noble. The group used the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency the President for the over whelming endorsement he got during the Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries on Saturday, the 21st of November, 2015. They also commended the President for re-nominating His Excellency Paa-Kwesi Amissah Arthur to partner him to win power in next year’s general elections to continue to deliver the good works.

The cadres commended the government for the pro-poor, pro-human centred policies and programs and massive infrastructural as well as the great efforts made in maintaining peace and stability which has also increased Investor confidence.

Citing the recent two by-elections in Talensi and Amenfi West constituencies which have both been won by the NDC the group said the victory is a clear indication the electorate is satisfied with the performance of the government. They urged the President to feel assured of emphatic victory for him and the party in the 2016 general elections and remain focus in delivering on his mandate to the people of Ghana.

Commenting on the recent NDC parliamentary primaries the cadres congratulated all those emerged victorious and urged the losers to rescind bitterness and join forces with the winners to win power in the next year’s elections.

They also called on the National Executive Committee to entreat the reconciliation committee which has been set up to resolve all tension and conflicts left behind by the November parliamentary primaries to work hard at this important task to ensure peace and unity in the party ahead of the 2016 elections. “The battle ahead of us is more challenging than the November primaries. We must therefore, place the interest of the party far and above that of ours. Politics should not be a do or die affair. Our Intelligence source has it that some people are planning to go independent and others want to encourage skirt and blouse voting these are practices that gravely affect the fortunes of the party.

On national security matters the group appealed to the president to entreat the national security to be on the high alert on fears that some unscrupulous individuals and groups might want to take advantage of the common tension that usually characterize election years to foment trouble. They mention for example the unfortunate happenings in the opposition NPP said the events leading to the deaths of some party members and suspension of some national executives of the party are issues that should be of grave concern to the peace and security of the Ghana hence national security must investigate these events.

The Cadres reminded the Executive, the Judiciary and the Legislature and all public office holders to make probity and accountability the watch words in their stewardship.

Regarding development in the Upper East Region, the United Cadres Front decried the delay in the appointment of a new substantive Municipal Chief Executive for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly several months after the exit of the former MCE Hon Edward Ayiriba whose tenure ended early this year. “We are entering an election year and the Municipality needs a substantive MCE to effectively handle both political and developmental issues for the party and the government”. They therefore appealed to His Excellency the President to act promptly in finding a suitable candidate who is competent and well experience for the position of the MCE to come in and speed up the development in the municipality to ensure victory for the NDC.

The group also used the opportunity to wish His Excellency the President and the Vice President and their respective families and the entire people of Ghana.

Merry Xmas and Prosperous New Year!
