MURDERER! Ebenezer Naa and one of the victims

Two siblings were hacked to death by their uncle on Tuesday in a forest near Fumso Kitewa in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.

Daniel Tetteh, 33, and his younger brother, David Tetteh, 31, met their untimely death after intervening in a misunderstanding between the suspect Ebenezer Naa and their great grandfather Kofi Naa.

The suspect had first charged on Opanin Kofi Naa at his cottage for preventing him (Ebenezer) from selling dried cocoa beans, amidst threats of death, according to the police.

DSP Daniel Anane Amoah, the Fomena District Police Commander, narrated that the old man, sensing danger, ran away from the cottage to Atuam, a nearby village where he informed the two victims and another grandson of his, by name Abraham Naa, to go and counsel suspect Ebenezer Naa.

The police chief told DAILY GUIDE that the suspect would not budge despite pleadings from the three, and in the process became more infuriated when he was prevailed upon to put a stop to his unruly behaviour.

DSP Amoah said the suspect then chased his nephews with a machete he had pulled from the cottage, and hacked Daniel and David on the head, hand and other parts of the body, while Abraham escaped.

He noted that the two bodies were found a day after the fatal attack.

According to the police commander, Ebenezer fled into the bush after his callous action and had since gone into hiding. The police have embarked on a manhunt to fish him out.

DSP Amoah disclosed that the bodies of the victims had been taken to the New Edubiase Government Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.
