Experienced editors whose primary language is Arabic can apply for this position in Beirut.

The United Nations is seeking an Arabic-language editor for its Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) office.

Job responsibilities include editing texts of a specialized or technical nature; carrying out more extensive editing where required, including rewriting, abridging and restructuring texts; using all sources of information for terminology and substantive research on the subject, including electronic sources and electronic tools for online editing; and translating text from English to Arabic.

A minimum of two years of experience in editing, preferably within the United Nations Organization is desired. This position requires a command of Arabic, which must be the candidate’s primary language, along with excellent knowledge of English and another official United Nations language, preferably French.
